Impetigo contagiosa in a very typical location: around the nose and mouth. Nasal carriage of the most common causative agent, Staphylococcus aureus, is almost a rule. Specific topical or/and oral antibiotics, wetting and elimination of the crusts, and treatment of possible background dermatitis lead to cure. In cases of recurrence the possible sources of infection should be checked - not forgetting the nose.
