Basal cell carcinoma in close proximity to the lacrimal puncta can be treated with liquid nitrogen cryosurgery without loss of normal lacrimal function. This method of treatment is suitable in this location, IF the tumour is of the nodular, well-demarcated type and at least 5 mm freeze margins can be left around the tumour without risk of damage to the eye. This case belongs to the hands of an experienced cryosurgeon. A follow-up for 5 years is mandatory.
